  • Please describe your business here

WNPQ 95.9  is a Christian Contemporary radio station serving Canton, Ohio and surrounding counties since 1999.  We also carry  Focus on the Family, Charles Stanley, Dennis Rainey and more.  And we air broadcasts of area churches.

  • How did you come to faith in Christ?

I was raised in a Christian home. And at age 15 during a revival at our church, I stepped forward one night and professed my faith in Jesus and was baptized. That was April 16, 1966.

  • How does your faith impact the way you do business?

Part of my job as Manager of WNPQ is to contact area businesses and churches in reaching our listeners with their message.  I have always used the Golden Rule in my business relationships.  Treat others as I would want to be treated.  To keep my word,  To say what I will do, And to do what I say.   I also try to respect my client ’s time.  They have busy days.  And to be dependable on keeping any promises made. My favorite verse is Romans 8:28.  I realize that things don’t always work out the way I would like. But God is in control.  He has my back.

In October 2011 a regional representative for Focus on the Family was driving through our area and heard Jan Markowitz,  our Afternoon air personality talk about our “Marriage Appreciation Month “promotion and how WNPQ was honoring couples who had been married for 30 or more years with prize giveaways.   The local representative liked what he heard and our station was later named a “Station of the Year”  by Focus on the Family. We received an award at the National Religious  Broadcasters  Convention in Nashville that year.  God blessed our station then and those blessings continue today.
