I recently contacted Fire and Ice when my A/C was starting to fail. Fire and Ice reviewed my heating and cooling and provided a list of options to solve my issue. I elected to replace my A/C and furnace. Fire and Ice quickly got me scheduled and, soon enough, I was all set. Fire and Ice's technicians communicated clearly and were friendly/helpful gentleman. The work was of the highest quality. Our new A/C unit looks fantastic and there was nice stone that was placed around the unit. Fire and Ice also ran a new insulated coolant line and replaced my furnace. They did this work quickly and my furnace looked excellent. Once this was done, Fire and Ice replaced my thermostat and explained how to use it. Overall, I am an extremely satisfied customer.

Heater wasn't coming on even though the exhaust would start up and run, nothing else would happen. Brad from Fire and Ice went quickly to work and analyzed the issue which turned out to be clogged ports in the system. No parts were required. Unit was operational in under an hour. Brad was extremely polite and well spoken and seemed to know exactly what he was doing.

I had the whole HVAC system replace. The price for the system was decent. They did a great job of handling all rebates for me. They showed up when they said they would. They took great care to put down drop cloths and did a great job to clean up after them selves. The one thing I wished they would have done is final presentation of the system there were a few wires not tucked away of put in wire looms that if they would have taken a little of extra time it would had been an amazing looking system.

OJ did a very complete and thorough AC tune up and pointed out a connector switch that may give me some trouble in the future. I have a 10 yr warranty on the trane heat pump (installed last year), he said if you have a problem call right away and they will be out and replace the switch.

e set an appointment date and arrival time frame between 9 -12 am. Because of a cancellation, they called a little earlier to see if I was available, which worked out even better for me. The tech was friendly and thoughtful to use shoe booties when walking through my house. He went right to work and checked out the basement furnace connections and the outdoor a/c unit, even cleaning out the debris with a hose he had on his truck. He pointed out my filter was 4", but a 5" filter would help the furnace work more efficiently... also that my drain went directly into the dirt under the concrete which was not up to the new code, but since it seemed to be working just fine nothing needed to be done. He also suggested a surge protector for the furnace and gave me a quote if I wanted to do it that day, which I declined knowing I might incorporate a whole house surge protector when I upgrade my electric panel in the future. I have used Fire & Ice for my a/c check and furnace check last year at my current home, as well as many times at my former house. The techs seem knowledgable and I have been happy with everything they've done. I especially appreciate being able to save quite a bit by purchasing their Angies Deal.

Wow! That's how great you'll feel when partnering with the team at F&I. Sales: Arne helped me with the furnace purchase in 2011. When my 23 yr old Central AC died this year 2015 just ahead of summer, I called F&I. The Trane products are highly rated by Consumer Reports. Arne helped me find financing that suited my needs. Nick and Ryan installed my unit. It was a pleasure having such great efficient, personable and professional representatives in my home. Every meeting with them makes me feel good about my choice to buy from F&I. Their prices skew a bit higher than some others, but their service and quality make it worth the expense.

We originally called Fire and Ice to get a quote for a new furnace. Roger was extremely helpful in explaining the details about what we could get and recommended only furnaces that made sense for our home. After comparing quotes, Fire and Ice was significantly lower than the competitors, yet provided the best customer service and response time my wife and I could image. Before we could schedule an install, our AC unit went out, so we decided to replace our entire system and water heater. During the days between our unit going out and our install Roger even brought over some window AC units to keep us cool. I was so pleased with the service! The day of the install went great. My wife and I were not there, and my father had to come and be at the house, but the crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They updated me if any issues arose while I was at work and also completed all the installation in a quick and thorough fashion. Everything was cleaned up and left like they weren't even there! I purchased an Angie's List Deal of the Day for an AC tune up. Previously, Fire and Ice had installed my new Trane Heating and AC system and they did a great job. They continued that great service with the tune up. The tech checked both the forced air unit inside as well as the compressor outside. He completed his multipoint inspection and everything is in working order. To add to this story, while the tech was here, my 16 year old daughter called and told me she had just been in a car accident. The accident was only a short distance from my home so, Obviously, I was going to drive to the location to make sure everyone was ok. I quickly told the tech who was already outside checking the compressor. He was very sympathetic. He said he had completed his work inside and so I could lock the house and he would still be able to finish his work. I will definitely use them again.

We recently moved into a new home and I wanted to have the A/C system checked since I wasn't sure when it was last inspected. The tech arrived between the timeframe provided and went about checking the internal and external components only asking that I turn down the A/C temperature so that the system would turn on. About 20 minutes later he showed me a few things to keep an eye on but advised that the A/C was in good shape however the furnace wwould need some attention in the fall. He quoted me the cost for the repairs and also showed me a list of service contracts but wasn't pushy about trying to sell me anything which I appreciated.,,,,,,,,

Fire and Ice spent the day installing a new energy efficient furnace and air conditioner unit in my home. They called 30 minutes prior to their arrival to alert me when they would be arriving to my house. The crew was polite and they explained what they were going to do in removing the old furnace and A/C and in installing the new equipment. I felt confident in the experience of the crew that was sent to my home for this project. I'm am thankful for the workmanship of Bryan, Ken and Angelo and I'm pleased with the end result. It went smoothly. We just moved to a "new" house, and are not sure about the status of AC unit. It just did not work quite well and efficient. O.J. is a great guy. He came in punctually and put on a shoe sleeves when he step in the house. He checked the unit in basement and outside, answered every questions. He also asked me about feel in winter,and offer suggestion to help dry nose. Our AC unit turned out to the original one of 20 years old and run with low refrigerant. He suggested to replace for a new one but also offer refrigerant charge on site. He couldn't guarantee the charge will totally solve the problem, so it was our call. We decided to take a shot to charge refrigerant and see how it goes for this year. R22 refrigerant charge is $130 for the first pound and every $100 per pound after. He estimated about 2 pounds from his professional gauge. Finally he billed us $230 for 2.3 pounds. He washed and cleaned radiator of outside unit. We got 65F cool air from vent before he left.

Comfort Consultant Roger Bakies was very professional and explained everything in detail. Technicians Ken & Angelo called before showing up. Their timing was excellent. I bought a HUD house that had a new AC unit that was half installed... F&I came in and got everything up and running. Very honest - they realized right after giving me the quote that there was something else they would need to do, and they threw it in for free since they already quoted me. Then they didn't end up needing to do some of the work they anticipated and took that off the quoted price. Will use them again!

Everything went extremely smooth from the initial meeting with Maggie, the comfort consultant who assessed the existing system, its condition, and our replacement options, to the complete installation and follow-up visit from Maggie. We called Fire and Ice Heating and Cooling for a quote to replace our aged existing furnace and AC unit, which was requiring more and more service calls. Maggie, a comfort consultant came to our house to assess our system needs, and discuss our options for replacing the multi-brand system with a new Trane system. She explained in detail, various systems with different features and price ranges, but left the final decisions up to us without pressuring us into any particular system. We chose the upgraded smart thermostat (which I highly recommend), and an optional humidifier to compliment the new system. An installation date was set after we accepted the quote. On the day of the installation, Darryl and Kevin arrived promptly to remove the old equipment and install the new equipment. They laid tarp down everywhere that they worked and walked with the equipment. They were very professional and pleasant as they performed the installation, explaining their progress along the way. They kept the worksite very neat and clean, as was the entire installation. All wiring, plumbing, and ductwork was very professionally finished. All old equipment was removed and all warranty paperwork was completed by Fire and Ice. We are very satisfied with the system, and very satisfied with Fire & Ice. I highly recommend them.

This was a BigDeal purchase via Angie's List. After submitting the request on Angie's website, I received a call from a representative at Fire & Ice within 24 hours. They were able to schedule an appointment within 2 days. The Service Technician, OJ, was on time and called 30 minutes prior to our appointment to let me know when he'd arrive. OJ performed the furnace tune-up (cleaned the flame sensor, burners, etc, and ran multiple tests to check the furnace performance). Throughout the tune-up, OJ showed me everything he was doing and described each test he was running. It was very helpful to have him explain the different parts of the furnace. OJ was great. Several days after the service, I received a customer thank you letter in the mail from Fire & Ice. It's great to see a company take this extra step.

Fire and Ice booked the appointment in advance. The service tech (OJ Jackson) called in 30 minutes before the scheduled appt and then arrived right on time. OJ looked at the system and tested the AC (which was having some seemingly minor issues). He used some high-tech readers to pinpoint the problems. Mainly, it looked like the compressor wasn't working at all. When OJ said "compressor" I was thinking Uh-Oh. OJ then cleaned off all the air intakes as I was standing there hoping for a miracle. Then, the miracle happened. The compressor kicked in and the AC started working properly. A big sigh of relief, OJ looked pleased for me also. Mr. Jackson continued his maintenance from a long checklist. I asked questions, he was very happy to answer and point out what was happening. By the end, the system was working, there was no major problem. A great job, all in all. I don't know anything about machines like this. It would have been very easy for the tech (Mr. Jackson) to arrange for further, very expensive procedures and I would not have known better. OJ did not do that, not in the slightest. At the point when it looked like I might need a new compressor, he was even helping me with understanding how a warranty would work (I might still be on warranty, I don't know) and helping me with what to do and how to handle it. When a service professional has the opportunity to arrange for more money in their pocket (thanks to the customer ignorance) and then DOESN"T do that, I take that as a very good indicator that I have found a great service provider. Thanks to OJ Jackson, any future air or heating needs, I will definitely call on Fire and Ice.

O.J. discovered that we had a significant coolant deficit. He presented the options without pressure or bias. We opted to have Fire & Ice do a leak search so that the service can lead to a permanent fixed (rather than the temporary fix that would result from a coolant charge). O.J. immediately arranged to have a technician perform the service on the next business day. We are grateful for a thorough appraisal of the unit, and for speedy follow-up service. Twice in the past, another HVAC company (which installed the system) responded to our requests for service simply by injecting coolant. The unit was under full warranty at the time and it seemed to us that they should have provided an actual repair of the system. The installer's company tech injected the coolant prior to discussing the procedure or options with us, and he refused to do a leak search upon our request. Following the purchase of one of Angie's Big Deals, we switched our HVAC servicing to Fire & Ice. We have been very pleased with the service provided by this company! Their annual cleaning and servicing has been be far more thorough and comprehensive than the service provided by the company that installed our very pricey Trane unit.

Exceptional service and professionalism! Our air conditioner stopped cooling. We found Fire & Ice through Angie's List. We had the company come out and inspect it. They offered a coupon through Angie's List and honored it for the service. Result from the inspection was problems with the coils and the system leaked its freon. (Another company had also provided a similar diagnosis.) We scheduled an appointment with their sales rep to learn about options as the existing unit was 10 years old and repair cost estimate warranted considering a replacement unit. The Fire & Ice rep was very professional and experienced. He shared multiple options to consider at different price points. I never felt pressured into buying a specific unit. The Rep was very helpful in explaining terminology, discussed benefits of different units as well as financing options. Terms were 30% down and the rest on completion. As I paid cash, they extended a 2% cash discount. They also applied the service charge from the prior inspection to the unit. They also handled a rebate from AEP and filing permit with the city. They made the whole process easy to do business with! Installation went very smoothly and as expected. They new air conditioning unit has worked great! A one year service plan was included with the purchase. Although being skeptical of service plans, Fire & Ice has been terrific. Many companies with service plans sort of disappear. Fire & Ice has been proactive in calling to set up appointments and very accommodating with my schedule. I have and will continue to recommend others use Fire & Ice. Their customer service is exceptional.

Fire & Ice came out to do a furnace inspection purchased through the BIG DEAL. Their technician was very thorough and friendly. The scheduling department did a great job of calling repeatedly and leaving messages to get this scheduled as I, the customer, did a terrible job of returning her calls. If it had been me, I'd have given up but she kept calling at reasonable intervals reminding me that I had purchased this and that they would like to come out and get this taken care of. Lost heating in an AC, looked through Angie's list and chose Fire and Ice because of their ratings. Called to schedule and was told the cost of the diagnostic was $89 and the repair was extra. It would be two days until they came. All fine. They came and it took about 2 minutes to diagnose the problem. The technician went to his truck and replaced the fuse in about 5 minutes. The fuse cost $15 (between $1.50 and $2.50 on Amazon). That is about what I expect from businesses nowadays. The labor cost $46. He spent 10 minutes filling out paperwork but practically none of that was relevant for me. If that had been all, I would have counted it as partially transit time. But there's the $89 for a diagnostic, which I assume was more than fair recompense for the drive and the 2 minutes it took to figure out the fuse on the unit had blown.

Having to replace a costly piece of household equipment never is fun, but dealing with Fire & Ice Heating and Cooling makes the process as painless as possible. O.J. did a thorough cleaning/inspection and confirmed our suspicions that the AC, while not dead, was ailing. He offered the options of the quick (but temporary) fix, or the more costly testing to uncover the root of the problem. Rick did the in-depth testing and pinned guilt on the coil. Given the age of the unit (and the cost of the new coil and installation) we decided that replacement of the AC unit would be the way-to-go. Note: Rick did not attempt to steer us in that direction, but his answers to our many questions made it clear to us that replacement of the unit would be the best path for us. Rick agreed. Roger (sales) answered all of our questions and presented various options. The sales experience definitely was low-key, and focused on what was best for us and our home. There absolutely was no pressure to select the highest priced option. That brings us to the installation process: Billie and co-installer Chad spent an entire day removing our old AC, and replacing it with a whisper-quiet unit that is sized right for our square-footage. They were diligent and unobtrusive. They had mud and rain to deal with throughout the day, and some of their work had to be done in a crawl space that provided the most minimal head-room. We have only good things to say about the installation team and the job they did for us. We discovered Fire & Ice last year (thanks to Angie). We have been more than satisfied with the service this company provides. We would recommend them to anyone looking for diligent and ethical service providers.

The company sent 2 service people to do the check up and cleaning. One of them was a trainee, but they were both very professional and respectful. They arrived at the house a bit early, which was fine by me. They walked me through what they were going to do, explained everything in plain English, and did the work of checking and cleaning the entire A/C system in a very timely fashion. After they were finished, they explained how their membership program worked and left some information for us to review, but they certainly weren't pushy about getting us to sign up on the spot. The total cost was only the $50 we paid for the deal through this website, but it was well worth it.

Heating & A/C. They did a general inspection, cleaning and tune up of two furnaces. That was great. They did an excellent job. I have no complaints. I had used them before. One thing they do that I like is when you buy the Big Deal, then they call you to get it scheduled right away. Which is nice because I know in the past I've purchased several at a time and then I kind of call one and then I forget that I need to call another. But just as important, was their outstanding customer service; from their phone staff to the installers, we were very impressed! The installers, ***** and ****, were genuinely courteous and professional and really went above and beyond. We truly appreciated their hard work. They explained the system, what they were doing and why, pressure tested the new lines, and finished every little detail with close attention... Something of great importance to me.. In comparison with the competition in the Columbus, OHIO area, these guys are light years ahead of every one else. Especially that other company whose name I won't mention (hint: shares the name with an appliance store/outlet) with the rude salesman who called my questions "silly" and hung up on me just because I asked for his price list after it took him 6 hours to call me back. With Fire and Ice you get your questions answered promptly and with genuine kindness! Like I said before, they are light years ahead in terms of service, knowledge, honesty, customer service and I personally was not able to find better prices on such high quality equipment.. We purchased a Trane XV18 Heat pump and Tam 8 air handler kit with the Comfort Link II 950 stat for the same price that others were quoting much inferior single stage systems. Not only that but looking at the exposed diagrams and pictures that different manufacturers put on their brochures, you can compare and see the quality of the engineering of these high end Trane systems... The materials used and their impressive design makes them the best out there at least in this price range... These things are built tough like an Abrams tank and finished like a Ferrari! Nothing like the file-cabinet-looking things the others showed us... Now, I know that not everything that looks like gold is gold, but to put it simply, these systems are built to last. The others just say they are... You will see that yourself if you compare brochures, or customer reviews online, pictures or whatever you choose. To sum it up, if you want to make a good investment, do it with a company that deserves it and can back it up. Fire and Ice does that like no other HVAC company in the Columbus area. OJ did a very complete and thorough AC tune up and pointed out a connector switch that may give me some trouble in the future. WOW- We were so impressed by the installation of our new Trane furnace and air conditioner. Nick went to the outdoor Air Conditioner unit outdoors to start first thing. He did a super job of digging out the area and leveling the unit and seating it. I worked for an HVAC company years ago and I must say that this was NOT at all what I expected. Every aspect of their install of our new system and removal of the old unit was synchronized and came off without a hitch. At no time did they leave, stall around or goof off. Nick was friendly, informative, very helpful. He wasted no time but did answer all our questions and that's not so easy when you're working that hard! We felt like we made a new friend! I can honestly say that I would have made them dinner and welcomed them to our table - they were just that nice and just that professional. Ryan was very good on the furnace & ducts. He was very attentive to his marks and fit. I have an appreciation for someone that measures well and marks their area neatly. His attachment of the air cleaner and retro fit of the furnace to the existing duct was just beautiful. I can honestly say that he made the area fit and seams as if this was his unit. Maggie was our comfort person and she did a rock star job as well. We look forward to establishing a new business relationship with F&I and their continued oversight of our new system. This was just a great experience! It makes us wish we had done this sooner.
